Ya know, I've been a Brooke fan all along but last night it occurred to me... she can't sing! I guess I was distracted by her 'cool chick at the piano' persona.

Wed, April 16, 2008 - 9:54 AMI don't know if I would go so far as to say Brooke can't sing since she would smoke me any day of my life, but I agree that she is one of the least talented vocalists on the show this season. However, she is good enough that with her cool hippie chick vibe, which is different for AI, she has gone pretty deep. But I believe she should be running out of rope soon. I think at this point its just a pecking order for all the girls and Jason until we get to the two Davids since I believe the competition is really between the two of them at this point. -

Too bad I like her.....yes I agree it's the two Davids to watch. I thought maybe Michael John's would be in the running in the beginning, he's suffers from the same thing Carly does. He's missing that spark something that's difficult to put a name to.

Thu, April 17, 2008 - 9:21 AMI like Carly and Michael Johns too but I see what you are saying about something not being quite right. They both have the talent and the looks, but never seem to really settle in comfortably into a particular groove, something Cook, Castro and Brooke have all done very well (although Brooke is losing me).
As for David A. winning it all, I agree he probably will but I don't think that would be unjust. Actually, I am under the impression that in addition to being the largest voting block, the tweens are also the biggest music purchasing block so since the purpose of AI is to not only find a star, but make money off that star, theoretically the person the tweens like best should win. I am not saying that is always the case, but look at Taylor Hicks. I don't think he had the teen block voting for him and his record sales were awful. And besides, we all know winning is overrated on AI since two of the biggest success stories are Daughtry and Hudson. -

Actually, I don't want our boy David C to win... if only because the AI control team probably wouldn't know what to do with him. He'll probably be more successful on his own. Though I gotta admit... they've done wonders with his hair :-) -

Huh? Explain this, please. He was making music and playing small venues and apparently loving it. Then he won AI, got a record deal, made some good money with that and a Ford commercial or two. Now he's making music and playing bigger venues. He hasn't had nearly the level of success that some previous winners have had.. but is he ruined? -

No, it was the SOUL PATROL.... and now he's opening for state and county fairs. i would say he had a moment and now he's definitely sliding down the other side of the plateau. He is, for all intents and purposes, better off than he was before, but he's lost that lovin' feeling. -

Not sure what went wrong, but it seems the people who voted for him probably didn't buy his album (and i will plead guilty to that - I've only purchased one AI album ever); whereas the tweens voting for David A. will buy his album and fawn over it. -

Fri, April 18, 2008 - 8:33 AMAI ruined him by trying to make him some poppy soul bit that just wasn't working. he made some cash and that is good but i didn't get into his album AT ALL! but i am sure you all remember i wanted to ride his SOUL POLE!! i would still go see him rock a state fair!
