I have to say, I really like Carly's voice but I just don't think she's going to survive this week. Meanwhile, can someone please put Kristy Lee out of all our miseries?

Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 7:16 AMI was really disappointed with last night's performances. I thought they all sucked. I hardly recognized any songs! Maybe it was me that was in a funk but I just was not into last nights show at all. -

Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 7:29 AMI love Jason Castro's version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow but I know that song from the movie 50 First Dates with Drew Barrymore but I agree .. in general another lack luster week.

Wed, April 9, 2008 - 7:31 AMI loed it too...He may not be an American Idol, but he sure is adorable....
the rest just plain sucked... -

Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 8:34 AMWow...I thought a lot of the contestants did quite well last night; I didn't think it sucked at all. I loved Jason's performance best also, but I am a BIG fan of that version of Over the Rainbow by the original performer.
I really hope Carly does not go home this week as she is my favorite of the remaining women. I don't personally dislike Kristy Joe or Syesha, but I think they are the least talented/distinctive remaining so I'd like to see one of them get the boot.
But they all get a reprieve until tomorrow. -

Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 10:19 AMthey hit the nail on the head with their criticism of syesha last night. she just brings *nothing* to the table. the most personality she shows is when she does the crying like a baby bit.
it's kinda sad when your entire life and personality are based on the fact you can make a cute scrunched up face at the right time. fantasia sang that song so much better, syesha looks like she is just making noises out of her mouth that go in time with the song. no expression -

Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 10:26 AMSyesha is beautiful and has a lovely voice, but I agree she brings nothing new to the table - there is nothing original or distinctive about her. She is a beautiful technician who lacks vision. -
-
Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 10:29 AMbut her problem is that her technique is just middle of the road. -
-
Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 10:31 AMwhich is why she should be voted out soon...average technician, no vision....beauty can only take you so far....unless you are Kristy Lee

Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 10:29 AMAccording to dialidol.com, Syesha, Carly and David Cook are predicted to be in the B3, but of course, with their "margin of error" loophole language, it could be almost anyone. -

Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 10:37 AMi was thinking last night that they should announce the person who got the top votes. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 1:33 PMI so want Carly to do well, she just can't seem to connect to the right song or perhaps she's trying to hard. Maybe she needs to meditate tuning in until she hits the zone....Haaha~! I don't know, but I'm afraid she may be gone, I hope not. ;-( -

Re: Poor Carly
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 8:45 PMI just read an article on CNN about her prior record deal. Apparently she made a record in 2001 called "Ultimate High" and it flopped. She had creative differences with her producer, Dorff, who felt she was best suited for pop material but she insisted on doing rock music. I found that very interesting since she keeps trying to do rock on AI and Simon keeps telling her she isn't choosing the right songs. So, I guess my question is, do people think she should stop focusing on rock or is that she is picking the wrong rock songs?
By the way, here is the link to the article in case anyone is interested:

Re: Poor Carly
Thu, April 10, 2008 - 9:08 AMmaybe if her producer spent more time in the studio and less time making humourous golf videos her record would have been more successful?
(sorry, i just couldn't help myself)
